THE LEFT BANK 2016
More than simply a wine. The left bank honours a particular lifestyle.
The Vineyards
The grapes are sourced from a multi-vineyard blend in the western cape region. The sails are mostly clay loam to granite and shale.
Winemaking
Fermentation initiated in stainless steel tanks and underwent a series of pump-overs until dry. Further maceration before drawing off and light pressing.
The wine spent 14 months in french oak barrels of which 10% was new. Balance in 2nd, 3rd & 4th fill barrels. Alcohol: 14.0% Residual Sugar: 17 g/l Total acid: 5.6 g/l pH:3.56
Tasting notes
A full bodied red wine with purple-red hues and good depth of colour. Concentrated red berry fruits of dark cherries, plums and spicy fruit cake flavours provide a lifted intensity.
The nose is dean and pure with layers of rich dense fruits. Well integrated oak provides complexity. Fine soft tannins acid structural focus and length
